UNIFOR JOURNALS WILL START TO USE DIGITAL OBJECT IDENTIFIER (DOI)

Starting on the next issue, the Conexão Ciência  Journal Online and the Journal of the Unifor-MG Law School will have DOI system attributed to their articles. The Digital Object Identifier (DOI) is an internationally accepted system for document identification on the internet. Presented as a hyperlink, it allows you to locate, access the whole text, identify the authors, and offers security and preservation of the digital content.

The main advantages for institutions that DOI provides to their publications are: increasing the visibility and the access to published documents, the possibility of identifying publications that quote the institution's journals, and promoting the persistence of the web address, if the material is relocated. Another positive point is the use of DOI in the Lattes Platform of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), which uses DOI information as a form of digital certification of researchers' scientific production through the Lattes Curriculum.

For authors, the choice of DOI by UNIFOR-MG scientific journals will also provide better agility in completing the Lattes curriculum forms, disseminating and making easier the access to the researcher's academic production.

By a partnership with the CrossRef registration agency, through the Brazilian Association of Scientific Editors, for the acquisition of DOI, the University Center of Formiga (UNIFOR-MG) strengthens its editorial practices which increase transparency, reliability and the preservation of the information  available in its electronic publications.
