Abstract

Introduction: This article presents an analysis of the philosopher's role in society, given the indisputable importance of classical philosophy in the development of human thought. Objective: This work aims to identify the role of the philosopher in the city, according to the thought of Plato (2007). Methodology: The research is based on bibliographic research, guided by the objective of verifying the role of the philosopher in the city, according to Plato. Result and conclusion: The hypothesis is confirmed that there is more than one role for the philosopher to act in the context of the city even today, among which is the role of questioning and proposing critical reflections.
