Introduction: Health Information Systems aim to obtain health information in order to understand the population's problems and offer support for planning within the scope of public policies. Objectives: This study aimed to understand the operationalization of e-SUS APS from the perspective of dental surgeons from Health District VII, Recife-PE regarding registration, monitoring and evaluation. Methodology: This study includes the qualitative and exploratory stage of an anchoring research, entitled “E-SUS APS: Analysis of Operationalization in the Oral Health, Family Health and NASF Teams in the City of Recife, Pernambuco”. It included the participation of ten dental surgeons from Health District VII in individual and semi-structured interviews that addressed questions relating to the importance, operationalization, limits and potential of e-SUS. Data were analyzed according to Bardin's thematic analysis technique. Results: The results were organized into three categories that indicated recognition of the importance of e-SUS APS, however it is still an underused tool for monitoring and evaluation. As a potentiality, access to the user's medical records was highlighted. On the other hand, limitations were identified regarding internet access infrastructure and a lack of skills with digital technologies. Conclusion: Although the results were successfully obtained, the object was observed from the perspective of dental surgeons only, which makes it necessary to develop new studies that analyze from the perspective of other authors involved, such as managers and technical support.
