The present work carries out an in-depth study of sexual conversion/reorientation therapies, within the perspective of the principle of human dignity, in view of the fundamental rights and guarantees provided by the Federal Constitution. Homosexuality is as old as heterosexual-ity, differing from it socially due to the treatment received by cultures and societies over time. From the homophobic and anti-dissident ideal and in encounter with the fear of what is dif-ferent, psychotherapies are born and grow with a focus on the “conversion” of homosexuality to heterosexuality, treating homosexuality in a pathologized way. The work uses fiction as a tool to facilitate reader understanding, based on the cinematographic work “Boy Erased: an annulled truth”. For the purposes of carrying out this work, scientific works developed on related themes and basic texts from thinkers on the subject were used in the research and theo-retical references.
