Abstract

All over the world, labor relations as well as social contours have been changing with time; traditional production processes are no longer as efficient as they were in the past, raising barriers and problems that conflict with the welfare and greater protection of the health of employees. The insurgent socio-legal clashes highlight the research's justification, evidencing that the Positive Law in its current conception needs to adapt to the social laxities regarding the worker's delight, highlighting as the focal point of this article the working day analyzed under the prism of the four-day workweek phenomenon. For the new socioeconomic nuances and what they are implying in the current development of the labor market, the social and solidary functions of companies were considered as feasible solutions, revealing themselves as ways to ensure the capital interests of employers, ensuring the adoption of positive mechanisms for the social situation, capable of directly impacting the welfare of employees if adhered to this disruptive model of four-day workweek. To this end, the article was based on bibliographical and documentary research, using the legal-dialectical method as its scope, in order to provide a broad and well-founded view of the theme in question.
