According to data from the World Health Organization, em 2011, 1 billion people live with a disability - one in every seven people in the world. This narrative bibliographical review article is about the labor market of people with disabilities. We searched the scientific databases for current references on the subject, but we did not discard the primary works where they could define who people with disabilities are and the economic impacts of their inclusion. As a result, in the private sector, because of the Quota Law, only companies with one hundred or more employees are obliged to fill two to five percent of their positions with rehabilitated beneficiaries or people with disabilities. We conclude that the labor market is still far from being inclusive. It is a long process, and the conquest of rights depends on the actors involved.
