CAN A CONSTITUTIONAL EDUCATION REPRESENT AN INSTRUMENT FOR THE PROMOTION AND PROTECTION OF THE DEMOCRATIC LEADING STATE?

Abstract

The importance of building human rights education has been increasingly highlighted in recent times. From this perspective, the present work aims to analyze whether the promotion of special education, here called education for the Constitution, can contribute to the recognition, defense and practice of fundamental rights, whilst also avoiding violations and civilizing setbacks. It was decided to carry out an exploratory research using a bibliographical review and qualitative data analysis in order to fulfill this objective, inferring, in the end, that it is necessary to value education as a tool for building democracy, not only in a conjecture of democratic values, but also as education for a democratic culture, in a process that also encompasses issues that agree with democratic, equitable, inclusive and anti-racist premises, recognizing the diversity and plurality present in the school space.
